I just read this book! Thanks for the review (that’s why I read it) It was very entertaining – I couldn’t put it down sometimes because I was so funny. I got the movie out of the library to watch this week!

I’ve read this book several times before and always loved it. I would never have thought of including this in the Once Upon a Time challenge, but thinking about it now, yes, it is a bit fantastical, isn’t it?

This sounds like fun! Its been a while since I read any mangic realist books.

Have you tried reading Diana Wynne Jones? Very different, but also about a world that seems ordinary at first, and then you start noticing the magic. I especially liked “An Ogre Downstairs”, “The Magicians of Caprona” and “Howls Moving Castle”
