Alright, I’ve given in. I’m joining the challenge. Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings is hosting R.I.P IV. I’m going aim for Peril the First:

This involves reading four books from Sept 1 – Oct 31 from the following genres:
Mystery.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.
I’ve decided to read City of Glass by Cassandra Clare and Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. I know they fit the bill because a lot of other people have chosen them (and that’s all I have to go on…I’m not too familiar with these genres).

That’s all I’ve got so I need some help with the other two. Any suggestions?
Check out what everyone else has read at the review site.

Thanks for giving in, its great to have you in the challenge! Both of your choices are perfect for the challenge.
Other suggestions? I certainly bang the drum every chance I get for The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. It is a novel rich with atmosphere and gothic moodiness. Books by Wilkie Collins seem to be a big draw with other readers this year. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is wonderful.
A great way to gather other ideas is to click on the links of the other people who have signed up to see what they have in their reading pools.
Again, I’m really happy that you’ve signed up.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Unfortunately, (well not really because it’s a great book!) I’ve read The Thirteenth Tale twice. I’ve also read The Graveyard Book (and it was good too). I like to read all new books for challenges, because to me, isn’t that the point?
I just read The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins and was considering The Moonstone (noticed it on a few people’s lists) so I’ll have to consider adding that one.

Don’t worry. You will find enough books for this challenge. Just let the reviews come in.
Here is my RIP IV read list

Two books I’ve heard nothing but great things about. Happy reading!

For this challenge, I’m making a list, but I don’t really plan on sticking to it. I’m going to just keep my eyes open to what other challengers are reading and see if any of them spark my interest.

I am thinking of reading Her Fearful Symmetry for this challenge too. I just need to get my hands on a copy first!

How about Carol Goodman…have you ever read any of her books?

softdrink,
No, I haven’t even heard of her. Do you have any title suggestions for a place to start?
Stephanie,
That’s my problem too. I might just have to wait for it to come out and buy it.
Jennifer,
I think I might end up doing that too!
