I thought this was a beautiful book and frankly would have liked to have seen it win the Newbery Medal instead of just an honor. Beautiful prose throughout and a great fantasy story that I believe has great staying power with young kids. Sometimes it is nice to just read a beautiful story. I have to say I disagree.
